I have always had a keen interest in Photography,but really hadn't had an overwhelming desire to pursue it until later in life.On a whim about 15 years ago before the advent of digital camera technology I purchased a Nikon 2020 35mm Camera made a Seascape image in Aripeka,Florida here on the Gulf Coast and I've been making images ever since.
I think the technical aspects of Photography are important but of equal importance is capturing the spirit of the moment.There is a spiritual component to image making because light was the first gift to the world.Florida Photographer Clyde Butcher summed it up when he said "Art comes from the heart".
When I make some of my images I'm reminded of how little of the natural world remains..Just Ghosts and Shadows.It's almost as if there are only small islands of these precious lands and sacred animals left,and it's our responsibility to save what we can for the health and well being of our planet and future generations..
